about
This was recorded live in my last apartment’s stairwell. It was about 100 degrees in the 2 story landing and I was sweating it out take after take to get a great keeper vocal and guitar. I then layered a second tremolo guitar on and mixed it quick. The room is mic’d up heavily which captures the electric guitar’s body and a lot of natural ambiance; Along with the occasional, unintentional, passing car.
The song is about Dashiel.

lyrics
I won't try to win you with flattery, hope you know you mean everything. All my life before you, I couldn't see, you were born, all the best of me. Your hands are my heart. Your eyes a window to my soul. Noone could ever love you more. You're the best of me. Little hands will wander, they feel around, when you laugh, it's my favorite sound. Little eyes are watching, see everything; I'll take care of you, no matter, what tomorrow brings.
